Our philosophy

We don't run classes. We build practices.

A class ends. A practice keeps showing up. Our work is to help you fall in love with the showing-up — which is where every real skill is made.

A mentor on one side. A small, quiet room on the other. Twelve weeks between you and a piece of work you'd be proud to sign your name to.

We started in 2014 with a piano, a violin, and twelve students. Eleven years on, the studio runs four disciplines — but the format hasn't changed. One mentor, six learners, one term. We still believe most learning is ruined by being scaled.

Every term ends with a public showing. A recital. A whitepaper. A bout. A performance. Real work, witnessed by real people — because that's the only kind of pressure that teaches.

  • 01Mentors, not instructors — chosen for craft, not credentials.
  • 02Cohorts capped at six. Always.
  • 03Twelve-week practice arcs with a public end.
  • 04Lifetime access to alumni studios & the practice library.

How a term actually runs.

A twelve-week arc broken into four deliberate phases. Same shape, whether you're learning violin or learning calculus.
01

Diagnose

One quiet hour with your mentor. We map where you are, what you've been told, and what you actually want.

02

Practice

Weekly mentorship plus a daily practice scaffold. We don't measure hours — we measure the work that comes out of them.

Weeks 1 – 8
03

Refine

The pieces come together. Your mentor pushes harder. You hate us briefly. We expect this.

Weeks 9 – 11
04

Show

A recital, a paper, a match, a performance. You bring the work. We bring the room — and the audience.

What they say after.

A short read. Pulled from term-end letters, with permission. Names changed where asked.

My daughter went in able to read music. She came out able to play it. The difference is everything. Her teacher didn't teach her — she conducted her.

I'd quit boxing twice before this. The studio is the first place that didn't ask me to hustle. They asked me to show up. I have, for fourteen months.

We compared four academies. Lumen was the only one that interviewed us before taking our money. That's when we knew. Our son was ready three months in.

I'm 47. I was the oldest in my cohort by twenty years. Not once did it matter. I have a notebook full of poems and a teacher I call a friend.

Six students. One studio. A teacher who actually remembered our names. After three big-name academies, this was the one that worked. We re-enrolled in week two.

I came in to clear an exam. I left with a way of working. The exam was almost a side effect. My mentor's notes still sit on my desk.

Questions

Before you apply.

Most of what we get asked, in plain language. Anything else — write to us. A real person will reply within a day.

Who is the studio for?
Anyone serious about their craft. We have ten-year-olds working through Royal Schools grade exams and forty-year-olds writing poetry for the first time. Age isn't the filter. Showing up is.
How small are the cohorts, really?
Six learners, one mentor. Always. We have turned down more applications this year than we've accepted. We will not scale this number — it's the whole point.
What does a term cost?
Cohorts range from ₹18,000 to ₹42,000 per twelve-week term, depending on discipline. Private 1-to-1 mentorship sits at ₹3,200 per hour. We offer four bursaries per term — apply by the 1st of the month.
Do you teach online?
Yes — academics, voice, writing, and chess all run online cohorts. Physical disciplines (dance, boxing, tennis) are in-person only, at our Indiranagar studio.
How do I apply?
Book a 30-minute discovery session below. You'll speak with the studio head — not a salesperson. By the end, we'll either offer you a place or refer you to someone better suited.
